A gran facing eviction to make way for the 2014 Commonwealth Games last night acc-used council chiefs of mounting a smear campaign against her.

Margaret Jaconelli, 52, claims details of council tax arrears she has run up were leaked to newsmen along with info on business rates her hubby is said to owe.

Glasgow City Council is now being investigated by the Information Commissioner over a potential breach of the Data Protection Act.


Last night the council denied a leak. A spokeswoman said: “There is no smear campaign. We don’t know where the paper got their info.” The Information Commissioner’s Office said it was “making enquiries.”
