Some sites make it very difficult for customers to opt out of receiving marketing, with some sites seemingly responsible for sending many unsolicited emails.

Which?, the consumer body which carried out the study, found that many price comparison websites’ privacy policies were too complicated and broke guidelines set by the Information Commissioners’ Office.
