The NSA is downplaying the privacy violations revealed in a leaked audit, telling reporters on a conference call yesterday that the violations – mostly unintentional – are a minuscule proportion of the agency’s operations.  You can read about the conference call on the New York Times and Bloomberg.

Elsewhere, the latest revelations have led to renewed calls from some members of Congress for changes to the programs.
