The Manila Bulletin reports:

After nationwide public consultations, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) has officially submitted the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 10173, or the Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012, to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) for publication.

The IRR will officially take effect 15 days after it is published at the Official Gazette.


The Data Privacy Act applies to any person or organization from the government or private sector involved in collecting, processing or use of personal data.
