Vivienne Traynor reports:

The Supreme Court has ruled that a seizure of a computer from convicted murderer Patrick Quirke’s home was unlawful.

However, the court is to hear further arguments on the consequences of its decision and whether or not Quirke’s conviction will stand.

The court was giving judgment on an appeal by Quirke against his conviction for the murder in 2011 of Bobby Ryan.
