RTÉ reports:

Early Childhood Ireland has called for action in the wake of the RTÉ Investigates programme into the Hyde & Seek chain of crèches.

The representative body for crèches said the revelations caused “enormous anguish” among many of its members, and there is now an opportunity to transform the funding, administration and oversight of the early years sector.

Tusla’s Director of Quality Assurance Brian Lee told an Oireachtas Committee on Children yesterday that the agency has identified 37 service providers as being at a “critical level of risk”.

Read more on RTÉ, who had filmed and aired a documentary from undercover filming at the childcare centers.
