A child protection worker is fighting the state government for compensation after an official revealed her confidential identity to a jailed sex offender whose case she worked on.

The former worker alleges the Department of Justice failed to take reasonable steps to protect her personal information when a guard at the Hopkins Correctional Centre gave a prisoner’s wife her name and phone number.
