Fredericton lawyer Anne Bertrand has been named New Brunswick’s first access to information and privacy commissioner.

Premier Shawn Graham announced the appointment Thursday.

Bertrand will take on the role when the new right to information and protection of privacy act is proclaimed on Sept. 1.
