Victoria’s top cop Simon Overland has become embroiled in a new political storm.

He has admitted journalists and possibly MPs have had their phone records covertly investigated over leaks from the police force.

The Police Chief Commissioner confirmed yesterday that an investigation into the source of a story by Herald Sun senior writer Geoff Wilkinson had been going on for 10 months and involved at least two officers.
