I realize that readers likely have their own strong views on abortion and abortion rights, but in my opinion, the ruling described in this news piece is a terrible court opinion. And that an opinion of such import would be issued by a probate court strikes me as an abuse of power. Where are the folks that criticize “activist judges” — because that appears to be what happened here. Sarah Singleterry of WAAY31 reports:
The Madison County probate court recognized an aborted fetus as a person with legal rights. According to a local attorney, that’s never happened anywhere in the United States.
The decision allows Baby Roe’s would-be-father and Baby Roe to sue the abortion clinic and others involved in terminating the pregnancy.
